The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Vernon & District is providing a showcase for local musicians, artists, and creative facilitators at the inaugural Mind Over Music Mental Health Festival.
Mind Over Music runs Sept. 26, 2026, and it will use music and creative expression to spark open conversations, reduce stigma, and build awareness around mental health.
“We are looking for artists to perform live or lead a music or creativity‑based workshop,” said Vicki Proulx, director of fund development and communications at CMHA Vernon.
Specifically, CMHA Vernon is seeking performers and facilitators interested in supporting conversations around:
- Anxiety, depression, grief, and burnout
- Youth mental health (ages 12–24)
- Creativity as a tool for healing, connection, and resilience
Local artists interested in participating are encouraged to submit a short bio and links to their work to [email protected]
Beyond the performances and workshops, Mind Over Music will also include fundraising in support of Foundry North Okanagan, helping to strengthen youth and young adult mental health and wellness services in the region.
