Hits for Health

#HitsForHealth is an annual NHL Playoffs fundraiser led by Vernon, BC content creator Lucas Mitchell (@WhatsUpLucMitch), now entering its third year. Since its launch, the initiative has raised nearly $6,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), with the goal of making an even bigger impact in 2026.
Throughout the NHL Playoffs, Lucas opens hockey card packs daily across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. For every card pulled featuring a player from a Canadian NHL team, a donation is made to CMHA, doubled if that team is still active in the playoffs. All funds raised through the campaign are donated directly to CMHA.
The fundraiser is inspired by Lucas’s personal story. In December 2020, he lost his father, Glenn Mitchell, to suicide following a long battle with depression. #HitsForHealth honours Glenn’s legacy and aims to raise both funds and awareness for mental health, demonstrating how the hockey and sports card community can come together to support an important cause.
Supporters are encouraged to donate, participate, or share the campaign, every contribution helps make a difference.
