Mental Health First Aid Certification

CMHA Vernon and District is offering a public session of Mental Health First Aid Certification.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3100 28th Avenue, downtown Vernon

Cost: $350 (Payment can be made at reception via cash, card or e-transfer)

This 2-day course goes deeper into mental health, self-care for the first aider, recovery and stigma. Participants will learn the ALGES actions and practice using them in scenarios.
Participants will also increase their knowledge about mental health, improve their confidence to provide support, lower stigma related to mental health and substance use, and enhance their
overall mental health as Mental Health First Aiders. Participants will be required to complete a short assessment to confirm their understanding of MHFA concepts and skills in
order to become certified. This certification is valid for 3 years.
