Georgette Shop

The Georgette Thrift Shop is a social enterprise owned and operated by the CMHA Vernon. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Georgette Thrift Shop fund our mental health programs and services. The Thrift Shop is also an invaluable training center for those wishing to re-enter the workplace in retail.  Participants gain valuable training and experience with assistance from our staff and helpful community volunteers; the Georgette Shop offers a safe environment for learning retail skills. The shop is run by 30 volunteers six days a week, who donated more than 12,000 hours of their time to the store last year.

You can find us at 3100 28th Avenue, Vernon. BC  We are open Monday-Friday 10 am – 5 pm and Saturday 10 am – 4pm. Closed on Sundays

Georgette Shop

We are not just a Thrift Store. Our volunteers put everything to good use. First, volunteers sort clothing into sellable and non-sellable clothing. The sellable clothes are prepared and priced for sale in the Shop or for the online store. Unsold clothing is recycled and resold or shipped to developing countries to help meet their need for clothing. Non-sellable clothing is used to the fullest. Our volunteers sew buttons from clothing onto cards for sale, large articles of clothing are cut up into rags, which are then sold to local businesses such as painters or mechanics. Jeans and other suitable materials are cut into pieces for volunteers to make into quilts to sell.  All profits received are kept in our community for our community.

Our online store features our higher-value clothing still available at a great price. Clothing found on our Poshmark site is brand-name clothes and clothes still with tags.

The items on Poshmark are available in-store if there is a particular item the customer is looking at.

You can save on postage by paying for items you find on Poshmark at The Georgette Shop and by picking up your online purchase in-store.
