Wage: 60,000 – 65,000
Status: Full-Time (37.5hrs.week)

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, the Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing fundraising and community events that support CMHA Vernon & District’s mission and revenue goals. This role ensures events are well‑organized, aligned with organizational priorities, and delivered in a professional, inclusive, and accessible manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Plan and execute fundraising and community events from concept to completion under the Director’s direction
  • Develop timelines and workplans; coordinate all event logistics (venue, accessibility, catering, AV, registration)
  • Lead on-site event delivery and resolve issues as they arise
  • Support event-based fundraising goals (tickets, sponsorships, donations) and assist with sponsor recognition
  • Coordinate vendors, speakers, and volunteers to ensure smooth execution
  • Implement event promotions and support content creation (Microsoft 365, Canva, social media)
  • Maintain awareness of programs/services and complete other duties as assigned by the Director
  • Stay informed of community events, trends, and engagement opportunities to support planning and outreach

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training & Experience

  • Education or training in event coordination, fundraising, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating events in a nonprofit, community‑based setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse communities, including people with lived and living experience.
  • Valid Drivers License

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfort using Microsoft 365 and basic event or registration tools.
  • Basic proficiency in Canva and social media platforms to support the creation and promotion of event materials and digital communications.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships, engage stakeholders, and provide a welcoming, professional experience.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, trauma‑informed practice, and collaborative teamwork.

Working Conditions

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Work may occur at community venues across the region.
  • Physical set‑up and take‑down duties may be required within safe limits.
