We are disheartened to share with you that sometime between the evening of Wednesday, July 14 and the early hours of Thursday, July 15, someone stole our Stihl leaf blower and Makita Hedge clippers. These two pieces of equipment are of great value to our organization, participants and community. The missing equipment creates a considerable impact. The stolen equipment is used in our Lawn and Maintenance program. While the program offers participants tangible job skills, that’s just the beginning of its impact. In a supportive and caring environment, participants learn about team building, collaboration and how to continue to manage their mental health when they enter the workforce. Our program takes care of our CMHA housing and some City of Vernon properties. The RCMP were notified, and we are hoping the equipment is returned. If you know something about the stolen equipment, please get in touch with the RCMP. We kindly ask, if you, or somebody you know, would like to help us replace this equipment, please reach out by calling CMHA Vernon at 250.542.3114 or by messaging us on Facebook or Instagram Messenger. We appreciate any help our community can provide!
