An annual tradition is back in support of youth mental health services in the North Okanagan.

Ride Don’t Hide, hosted by Canadian Mental Health Association Vernon & District, will be held June 7 at Vernon’s Polson Park. Registration has officially launched at cmhavernon.ca/ride

“Ride Don’t Hide is such a great opportunity to come together as a community, and we can’t wait to see our friends and neighbours,” said Julia Payson, executive director of CMHA Vernon.

“Every dollar raised goes straight back into supporting local youth aged 12 to 24 and helping us grow these services even further. We’re incredibly proud of the impact being made through the Youth Integrated Services Hub, where supports like counselling and a no barrier food pantry are making a real difference in young people’s lives. YISH is also just the beginning. It’s paving the way for Foundry North Okanagan, which will bring even more community partners together to better support youth and their families.”

Registration for Ride Don’t Hide is just $55 per adult, $10 for youth ages 12 to 24, and kids under 12 ride for free. Community members can register an individual or as a team, allowing for the opportunity to fundraise with support and team spirit.

Cyclists and non-cyclists can take part in the event which features five routes ranging from four to 50 kilometres through Vernon and Coldstream.

Ride Don’t Hide will also include booths promoting local organizations, kids’ activities and a barbecue for participants.

On June 7, registration opens at 8 a.m., with the first ride starting at 9 a.m.
