A NOTICE ON COVID-19
Your health and well-being, and that of the entire community, is of the utmost importance to us at CMHA Vernon & District Branch.
That’s why we have decided to cancel this year’s Ride Don’t Hide.
We are all living in times of significant uncertainty about what the coming weeks and months will bring, but we know we are strong and connected.
Over the years we have seen Ride Don’t Hide grow in popularity as our community rises up to end mental health stigma, while raising funds for youth mental health programs and critical services.
We are the ones who have had the top fundraising team in Canada for the past three years! The Spirit of the North Okanagan community is resilient and vital and we will get through this together.
If you have already registered and/or received donations for the 2020 event please contact Eleanor Diekert at eleanor.diekert@cmhavernon.ca for information.
For more information on how CMHA Vernon & District is supporting the mental health of the community during this time please click here.
If you would like to Donate to CMHA programs, we would greatly appreciate your support.
Be well and take good care of yourself and each other. See you at the Ride in 2021.
RIDE DON’T HIDE
Ride Don’t Hide is an annual community bike ride which raises funds to support local youth and families, while promoting important aspects of mental health including physical activity, social connection and awareness of community supports.
CMHA Vernon actively works to promote mentally healthy people in a healthy society. CMHA Vernon offers a variety of programs and services to the Vernon community, from work experience to supported pre-employment programs such as preparing and serving food to working in a clothing retail environment. Education and support sessions allow participants to learn life skills, wellness management and raise awareness of mental illness. A range of socialization and recreation programs further support wellness. CMHA Vernon’s diverse housing program includes residential facilities to subsidized housing.
Funds at Work
Last year’s event raised nearly $60,000 for youth programs and the Crisis Line, with Vernon having the top fundraising team in Canada for the third year in a row.
